For the last seventy years of his life Joseph lives in relative peace in Egypt. However, he does not get so immersed in his position there that he forgets the future of his people.
Jacob is taking his final breaths. He gathers his sons to bless them each according to their own personal traits.
After the blessing Jacob prophetically tells how their family will be reunited in the land of their fathers.
Things are looking up for Jacob. Beyond giving them the best land in all of Egypt Joseph takes care of every need his family ever has.
It was a heart felt reunion. Jacob finally feels that he can die in peace now that he has seen Joseph with his own eyes again.
Joseph recognizes that God has brought him here to Egypt to save the lives of his brothers during this time of famine.
Joseph has another test for the brothers. He tells his servant to put back all their silver and along with it put the silver cup he uses to drink and divine from in Benjamin’s bag.
